The goal of any storytelling session with me is to be able to look at these images and get a good feel for you and your loved ones just based on the photo at hand. During this St. Petersburg, Florida storytelling family session, it was evident how much Samantha, Josh, and Joshie love each other, adventure, and the water. If you've ever considered booking a storytelling session with me, this session is a great depiction of what to expect.
These three booked with me to update family photos and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with them. I observed behind my lens a family who genuinely enjoys each other's company. I like to stand back and let things transpire organically. I'm simply there to capture these little moments with my camera for you to hang onto for years to come.
Let Them Be Little
Anytime children are involved, it's always a good idea to let them be children. These photos are not supposed to be overly posed, but rather candid and natural. I am simply an observer on a fun-filled afternoon with you and your family. Samantha and Josh were such hands-on, fun loving parents with Joshie, and they needed very little guidance from me. They simply were present in the moment with their son splashing, running, and laughing, and having a great time in the sunshine next to the sea. Who could ask for more?
Emotional Storytelling Photos
If you can look at a photo that I've taken and feel the emotion that was there that day in that moment, then I have done my job! I look back at some of the photos of Joshie with his hands on either side of his mother's face and that raw emotion, love & adoration for her is so clear in the way he looks at her! Similarly, in the photos of mom and dad throwing Josh into the air, his sweet, dimpled smile is on full display and everyone is laughing. I can almost hear them laughing again just looking back on the session with them!
I look at the love between Josh and Samantha and their affection for each other is crystal clear. This family made it easy for me to do my job. They genuinely enjoy each other's company and it shows. It was as if I was just invited along for a family fun day next to the water and I loved every moment of it!
We started with blue skies that faded into a golden sunset. As a photographer, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful afternoon. This family was so down to earth and easy to work with, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. Josh, Samantha, and Joshie, thank you for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family. I hope these photos are something that you'll reminisce about in the years to come.
